I am a qualified Australian Athletics Level 2 Coach in middle and long distance running (Reg No. 4401). My Athletics Australia iCoach Profile Page. Being a school teacher by profession, programming and assessing your progress comes very naturally to me. I would like to help you set and achieve your goals; and then reassess your goals to take you constantly on a upper trajectory.

Coaching Woodstock Runners Interval Training Session
I was a coach at Woodstock Runners for many years, helping people from all walks of life, of all ages and abilities, achieve their personal goals. I was the founder of their interval training night, TNT, and coached men and women of all ages improve their fitness and running technique. I have a particular interest in barefoot/minimalist running and can use video analysis to help you improve your running form.

I currently coach a number of people, fun runners to competitive runners through my UP Coaching business. Some coaching is face-to-face (Blue Mountains), some is done online or a combination of both. Which ever the way, I believe in building rapport with clients, listening to their goals and working out a program that fits your current training routine that also considers your other life commitments.

Presenting at Ultra Training Australia's 6 Foot Track Camp
Along with training sessions and online coaching, I run a number of Trail and Ultra Running Training Camps each year. I have helped many clients prepare for major Australian races like the Six Foot Track Marathon and Ultra Trail Australia races. These camps are usually a combination of mentored training sessions on the race course where running technique analysis and tips for running over a range of terrains are offered. Further to this, information seminars on a wide range of topics ranging from nutrition and hydration, gear choice, overcoming pre race nerves, checkpoint tips, training and tapering and night running are presented.

In 2014 I worked with (then) Canberra based elite female orienteer and trail runner Hanny Allston from Find Your Feet to present a range of general Trail Running Camps at Lake Crackenback Resort and Spa. In 2015/16, after Hanny moved back to Hobart, I have continued hosting these camps with elite trail runner Jo Brischetto from Summit Sisters.

Here is a video put together of the first Lake Crackenback Trail Running Camp in 2014.

Here is a little article I wrote for athletes participating in the Coastal Classic Trail Run, but is very relevant for most trail races! It covers aspects of training, race day gear, nutrition and hydration, pacing and trail running etiquette. http://www.maxadventure.com.au/coastalclassic/how-to-approach.html

Here is a photo album of another Lake Crackenback Trail Running Weekend. While you're at my Facebook Page, please feel free to look at any other albums from Camps and Training Days.
